Symmastia Repair
Symmastia is the condition where one or both implants is malpositioned too close to the midline or even crosses the midline and sternum. It is often related to implants that are too large or wide for the women’s torso and sometimes over dissection of the implant pocket over the sternum. This condition is very difficult to repair and often requires the creation of the new space (the neosubpectoral or neo space), narrower implants and the support of Acellular Dermal Tissue Matrix (e.g. Alloderm or Strattice).
