Revision Breast Reconstruction

Many women may require revision breast reconstruction following mastectomy and reconstruction. Revision breast reconstruction may be performed to create a nipple, improve asymmetry or shape, contour the breast, or for complications such as capsular contracture. The use of an Acellular Dermal Tissue Matrix (ADM), may be used in revision surgery. Common procedures include, fat injections, change of implant, breast reduction/mastopexy to the contralateral breast and capsulectomy. Some women desire revision surgery for other reasons as well. Revision breast reconstruction may also be needed years after the initial reconstruction.
