Abdominoplasty, known more commonly as a tummy tuck, is a major surgical procedure to remove excess skin and fat from the middle and lower abdomen and to tighten the muscles of the abdominal wall. A mini-abdominoplasty is a modified version of the traditional abdominoplasty. A mini-abdominoplasty procedure is performed on patients whose excess skin and fat is below the belly button. Muscle tightening can be performed in a mini-abdominoplasty if needed. Usually with a mini-abdominoplasty, the belly button does not move as compared to the traditional abdominoplasty.
